Characterization of High Fludioxonil Resistance in Botrytis cinerea Isolates from Calibrachoa Flowers

چکیده
The fungicide fludioxonil is one of the most effective single-site fungicides available for managing flower blight caused by Botrytis cinerea on fruit and ornamental crops. Although low moderate levels resistance to have been reported in pathogen across United States Europe, high has only from greenhouses China. In this study, two B. isolates with (half maximal concentration >100 µg/ml) were detected calibrachoa flowers grown a greenhouse. These exhibited stable >20 generations, produced symptoms sprayed label rates fludioxonil, displayed vitro fitness penalties decreased mycelial growth (P < 0.0001) sporulation compared sensitive isolates. Highly resistant identified as MDR1h, containing ?L/V497 deletion mrr1. However, parameter characteristics not consistent phenotype. One isolate contained mutation L267V between HAMP domains 1 2 Bos-1 gene, both osmotic sensitivity reduced glycerol accumulation presence indicating that these may be associated high-osmolarity mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway.

Genetic characterization of grapevine-infecting Botrytis cinerea isolates from Argentina.
BACKGROUND Botrytis cinerea is an ascomycete with a high genetic diversity and complex population structure, as reported from several hosts and sites. However, nothing is known about its genetic diversity in Argentina. AIMS The aim of this work is to estimate the genetic diversity of a local population of B. cinerea isolates obtained from grapevine in Argentina. METHODS In this work, 35 str...
متن کاملCloning and partial characterization of endopolygalacturonase genes from Botrytis cinerea.
Botrytis cinerea is a plant-pathogenic fungus infecting over 200 different plant species. We use a molecular genetic approach to study the process of pectin degradation by the fungus. Recently, we described the cloning and characterization of an endopolygalacturonase (endoPG) gene from B. cinerea (Bcpg1) which is required for full virulence. Here we describe the cloning and characterization of ...
متن کاملWhole genome resequencing of Botrytis cinerea isolates identifies high levels of standing diversity
How standing genetic variation within a pathogen contributes to diversity in host/pathogen interactions is poorly understood, partly because most studied pathogens are host-specific, clonally reproducing organisms which complicates genetic analysis. In contrast, Botrytis cinerea is a sexually reproducing, true haploid ascomycete that can infect a wide range of diverse plant hosts. While previou...
